Anyone else read that word and your eyes rolled? That used to be me – honestly some days that still is me. But the best part about journaling is that it can be as formal or informal as you’d like. No one gets to see it but you. If you’re a patient of ours and we’ve been working on fertility one of the things we recommend is a gratitude journal. It’s not because we want you to track your moods or keep track of anything, it’s because we want you to find the joy in your day!

I started using a Start Today journal by Rachel Hollis to see that there is good in every single day and to track my personal goals. The great thing about journaling is that you don’t have to have a fancy journal, you can just buy a plain old notebook and write down 3 things you are thankful for.

Journaling is linked to improved mental and physical health. Research shows that gratitude can improve your sleep, improve optimism and mood, lower blood pressure, and decrease stress. Who doesn’t want those things? Gratitude journaling can also help you organize your thoughts and spark your creativity – sign me up! :)

Our motto at the office is BEE HAPPY, BEE HEALTHY, BEE YOU and journaling is a great way to express all three! Journal in a way that feels authentic to you – whether that is with pen and paper, through a text message, or on your computer – and start feeling HAPPIER and HEALTHIER!

Happy writing – and always remember we are grateful for YOU!
